the fireworks
fireworks
knocked something loose in me
broom to a hung rug
falling debris
i smack my head
when overwhelmed by my thoughts
tamp them down
matted mess
the lights and the crack in my chest
loosen what’s been compressed
its spilling out down my cheeks
pooling at my feet
each time the sky shatters
the sky becomes me
