This prop was made for a new work at Playmakers. I built up the form out of cardboard, paper, and bags of corn. I refined the shape by adding modeling foam, being careful to leave the paper fins uncovered. Once the foam was settled, I painted it with acrylics and gave it a coat of polycrylic. Another fish was made to look like it had been mangled in a kitchen sink garbage disposal. This fish saw many iterations but we settled on a look that would read clearly from stage.
